Waterless dog shampoo absorbs excess oil from a dog's skin and coat. By doing so, it helps restore a dog's shiny, soft coat and makes it easy for him or her to maintain it for an extended period of time. Waterless dog shampoo often contains natural ingredients that are safe for use on all dogs. It helps minimize the risk of dry, flaky skin that otherwise causes itching and irritation. Waterless dog shampoo generally won't take long to administer, too. A typical bath with waterless dog shampoo takes just a few minutes to complete, and the results may last for several weeks.
My dog has been inside our home when it's been cold or raining and I haven't been able to bathe him because of how cold it is, so he had that wet dog smell. Well he doesn't have it anymore I used just a small amount on each side like a quarter size and boy did it work I would highly recommend it's been several weeks since I used it and he still smells clean and it left his fur nice and soft. I am recommending this to my family the smell is not strong and like I said you don't have to use very much, it gets rid of that wet dog smell.
I use it every other day since my puppy is so young and loves to roll in his own pee or spill his food and water and walk all over it. He is a Westie so you can spot even a dot of dirt/ color on his body from far away. This has really helped with the "dog smell" and keeping him clean. Pior to ordering I was really worried what if my pup is allergic to it; however I could have not been more happier that the fragrance, texture, and quality of the product is excellent!! I am glad I made the purchase.
I'm giving this 5 stars for what it is - this is not the same as actually bathing your dog. We have two 70 lb dogs who hate water, a toddler, and I'm pregnant, so bathing them has become... exceedingly difficult. This dry shampoo significantly improves their smell, and removes more dirt than I expected. One of ours takes 3 pumps and the other 4, then I wipe them down with a towel and a ton of dirt is present on the towel, and they smell pretty good for several days. I don't feel like this replaces a bath, as I said, but it was a life saver when my in-laws where coming over!
I bought this originally because one of my dogs had surgery and couldn't be bathed for several months. It worked beautifully for him, but also, for my other little dog who loves to roll in the grass and forever is coming in the house stinking of something bad. Great for just spot cleaning her. Find the spot on her back where it's bad, a little squirt and it's gone. Also, I am very sensitive to smells (I even tell the groomers, no perfume please) but this has a light, clean smell, which doesn't bother me at all. A little goes a long way though so be careful not to put on too much.
